In-Cider Orchard is an apple orchard being developed in central Minnesota, near the City of Brook Park.  The orchard is growing apple varieties that are prized by both fresh & hard apple cider makers and vintners.  Our goal is to serve the home cider maker as well as commercial hard cider makers.  Commercial apple sales began in 2022 with sales to private individuals scheduled to begin in early 2024.

Phase One of the orchard development began in 2019, with 36 different apple varieties in a field that will ultimately support over 2,600 trees by the end of 2024.  Trees of various ages are being planted, from newly grafted, to one and two year old trees.  Planting the same tree variety over several years allows us to minimize the natural biennial production nature that many cider varieties exhibit.  In 2023 the apple harvest exceeded 14,000 lbs.  We expect the apple harvest to ramp up dramatically with each passing year.  Since 2019, we have been adding a few new apple varieties to the orchard.  As of  2023 our orchard will have expanded to 2,250 trees and from 36 to 44 different apple varieties.

Phase Two of the orchards development is officially planned for the for the spring of 2025, though some trees are already calling this field their home.  This field will support over 1600 trees and we plan to tailor the tree varieties planted in this field based on demand requests that we receive from our customers.  Phase Three of the orchard is an expansion area requiring additional fencing and will support an additional 800 trees.  When fully developed, the orchard will consist of about 5,000 trees.  Each tree is capable of producing 4-8 bushels of apples, resulting in an annual apple harvest of 30,000 bushels or 1,200,000 lbs of apples.  So please keep on making and drinking lots of fresh and hard apple cider.
